Make My Day Monday Event Benefiting Step Up Women’s Network
The idea of “Make My Day Mondays” or “MMDM” is every Monday to make an effort to help someone in need. The distinction of “MMDM” is not to focus on a dollar amount or a specific organization, but to behave with a sense of strong morality and support for the community.
The heart of the idea is to donate anything to anyone or anyplace that is important to the individual. Whether it’s carrying a stranger’s heavy suitcase up the stairs from the subway, pushing a car out of the snow, or paying for the person behind you at the grocery store, we hope the pay-it-forward idea becomes contagious.  By ‘tagging’ social media posts about your good deed with #MMDM,  others in your network and beyond will be encouraged to look for ways to help others!
We’ll be upstairs at Rockit (22 W Hubbard, Chicago), get there at 6pm when the free appetizers start
Donations will be taken at the entrance for event. All Donations from the MMDM event will be given directly to Step Up Women’s Network.
Step Up Women’s Network is a national, nonprofit membership organization dedicated to connecting and advancing women and girls. By bridging communities of professional women and under-served teen girls through mentorship, networking and advancement, we ensure women and girls have the opportunities they need to create a better future.

To go along with this cause and the founder of MMDM’s sport connections, we decided to honor a few women in the sport’s media.
We will be recognizing the achievements of both Paula Faris and Sarah Spain.
Faris joined the NBC5 Sports team in November 2005 as a reporter/anchor. Since then, she has won several Emmy’s, most recently, for coverage of the Chicago Marathon. You can also follow Paula on her personal Twitter account @paulafaris.
Sarah Spain has recently accepted a job with ESPN 1000 WMVP-AM as a Sportscenter Anchor and Reporter. In addition, she will also be co-hosting WGN-TV’s brand new show “Chicago’s Best!” Spain has been named Chicago’s “Best Budding Media Mogul” by Newcity magazine. You can follow Spain on her blog “No Spain, No Gain” at www.ChicagoNow.com/blogs/sarah-spain/ as well as on Twitter @SarahSpain.
Bright Pink night at the *new* Public House
This is the perfect chance to check out what all the buzz is about… there has CERTAINLY been a ton of excitement about this new River North venue from the team that turned Bull & Bear into a hit!  When you get there early (I warned you in advance) order a few specialty Grey Goose cocktails for you and your friends, as 100% of the proceeds will go to the cause: Supporting education and outreach to young women that are at high risk for breast and ovarian cancer.  More about the cause HERE.
