BlackBook Class Acts

Class Acts Chicago

I am honored to have been selected as a BlackBook Class Act, and am really proud to see my work in the non-profit community being recognized. Join me in celebrating this Tuesday, October 16th at Untitled. The event goes from 8p-11p and I’m guessing there will be some Ketel One cocktails for you to try 😉

The bartender that I had ‘a drink with’ (the Orange Whip 2.0) in our video is a really good guy too, so now you have three reasons to come out (his delicious drink, your third reason to attend, is sure to be featured).

What? BlackBook Magazine presents Chicago’s Class Acts
Where? Untitled, 111 W Kinzie, Chicago, IL 60654
When? 8pm – 11pm

A 10-day experiment: Building an advisory board #100for100

Apr 11, 2012   //   by Cameron   //   Alumni for Public Schools, Get Involved, News, Non Profits  //  No Comments

The concept was simple: Inspire 100 of the most successful young professionals in Chicago to each donate $100 to fund an amazing program now in a dozen CPS schools.

The hard part? Doing it in 10-days.

Launching yesterday on LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter, #100for100 is off to an amazing start. We set up a blog specifically for the project, and it has been getting a ton of traffic so far.  We use Eventbrite for all our fundraising events and so far we have a dozen supporters (so we are on pace!) who have committed to the board which is very exciting!

Alumni for Public Schools promotes and supports volunteer partnerships between the Chicago chapters of college and university alumni associations and individual Chicago public schools in order to enhance student learning and increase students’ awareness of and readiness for post-secondary options.

APS provides a link and a means of communication between three primary stakeholders: the Chicago Public Schools central office, participating schools, and volunteers from participating alumni associations. We seek to encourage public schools to view alumni associations as valuable resources for their students, and to encourage alumni clubs to imagine new and effective possibilities for their partnerships.

Come interact with the kids!!!
